The most expensive One Piece cards

Updated: 2026-10-18

The most expensive One Piece cards are almost always alternate versions of cards that already exist: alternate arts (parallels), manga-style arts and secret rares (SEC) of the fan-favorite characters, like Luffy, Shanks, Zoro or Nami. The same card with the same code can be worth cents in its regular version and hundreds in its alternate version, so to know what yours is worth you need to check the code and the version.

Why some are worth so much and others so little

Bandai's One Piece Card Game launched in Japan in 2022 and the same year in English with its first set, Romance Dawn (OP-01). Every set since has hundreds of cards, but the money sits in very few of them:

How to tell which card you have

  1. The code at the bottom right, for example OP01-120: OP01 is the set (Romance Dawn) and 120 the number. Starter decks use ST, extra boosters EB and promos P.
  2. The rarity, next to the code (C, UC, R, SR, SEC, L, SP).
  3. The artwork: compare it with the regular version of that code. If it's different, you have the alternate.
  4. The language: Japanese and English editions have different prices; Japanese comes out first and some cards only exist in one of the two.

The most expensive Luffy cards

Luffy is the main character and the one with the most cards in the game: almost every set brings a new version, as a leader or as a character. These are the ones worth the most among those we track:

Sets to look at

Every set has its own page with all its cards, their prices and the most expensive ones: see One Piece sets. The latest and upcoming ones are in new sets and the release calendar. Chase cards are usually at their highest in release week; if you want a specific one, waiting a few weeks often pays.

Before buying an expensive one

How to store them

A good card goes into a penny sleeve and a toploader straight out of the pack, and the best ones into a magnetic case.
